The Light Body: Two-legged, tall dragons with wings for arms. Ex: Leaf Dragon, Tree Dragon, Minotaur Dragon. Two-legged wingless dragons, much like lizards stood up on their hind legs. Ex: Tribal Dragon, Cyborg Dragon, Tiger Dragon. The Earth Body: Long, slender, wingless four-legged dragons with fierce expressions. Ex: Reindeer Dragon, Dust Dragon, Meteor Dragon, Meteorite Dragon. The Lava Body: Like the Mud Body, but skinnier with longer legs and necks. Ex: Elemental Dragon, Rastafari Dragon, Cloud Dragon. The Mud Body: Thick bodied, short legged, slow dragons with mostly uninterested expressions. Venom Dragon subverts this by having arms. The Wind Body: Long, serpentine bodies that remain in a curl, even in a state of defeat. Ex: Seed Dragon, Smoke Dragon, Honey Dragon. The Fire Body: dragons with the Fire Dragon body. The lack of variation is so noticeable I can easily go over the body types: It doesn't help that unlike Dragon City, they only have three stages as opposed to four. You really can't imagine them to be very big. The Dragon designs there simply look like they took the same body type and slapped the features together.
It's easy to remember what every stage looks like.īut then there's Dragon Mania. Otherwise, you can really buy their size, speed, and personality. Only a few are recolors, such as the hybrids Flaming Rock and Cool Fire. You can tell a true design team went into each one. In Dragon City, the dragons are all kinds of shapes and sizes. One thing I noticed when I switched is the dragons in Dragon Mania really aren't as unique as the Dragon City ones. Chances of finding the shards greatly vary player to player, but even if you don't find one, you can find extra food, gold, scrolls, even gems sometimes. Getting all of them will not only change time, but awaken a huge mountaintop Dragon named Chronos.
You also get a subplot where you must explore locations in your islands to find special shards.
